BY DYLANS' AUNTY CHERIE

The first year of a baby boy
Always goes too fast

A fighting angel rests in peace
We wish the years could last

Though his body's left us
His spirit isn't far

Our little angels' taken place
To shine amongst the stars

BY DYLANS' AUNTY VAI

Darling Dylan
Most precious angel up above
Looks down on those he dearly loves
Gentle smiles across his face
arms outstretched for a warm embrace,
to those he left behind
Gods special angel sent to show us,
how wonderful love is
His body has left us,
but thats O.K
'cause his spirit is never far away
Suffer no more sweet baby
your special star will shine
With all the love you've left behind
Aunty Vai loves you

This poem is from a very special person, who nursed Dylan for a short time after he had his surgery

Hey Baby,

Last time I saw you, your eyes were old.
Bold from centuries you were not to be told.
Your look spoke volumes, yet your speech had all but gone.
The few words learnt seldom spoken.

You had hair of sunlight and skin so soft.
Yet your body was wasted as it had fought for so long.
Gone the cute dimples of fat in right places.
But cute now in sickness as we all adjusted to
your changing paces.

Right to the end those "Cheese Balls" will be remembered.

The mess and the laughter which I saw first
now fading

I did get a hug though. Special I thought.
Considering they weren't given freely.

But soon Mum and Dad's arms were all that you wanted.
And rightly so.

Safe where you belong... now no more.

You shared joy, you shared laughter,
You gave each of us so much

Memories Everlasting

Love you Dylan

Linda (27/2/98)

This poem was given to us by the family of one of Dylan's friends, who lost their son Campbell two months before Dylan died, and some other very special friends of mine.

I'll lend you for a little time
A child of mine he said
For you to love the while he lives
And mourn for when he's dead
It may be ten or twelve months
Or twenty two, or three
But will you, till I call him back
Take care of him for me
He'll bring his charms to gladden you
And should his stay be brief
You'll have his lovely memories
As solace for your grief
I cannot promise he will stay
Since all from earth return
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn
I've looked this wide world over
In my search for teachers true
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes
I have selected you
Now will you give him all your love
Nor think the labor vain
Nor hate me when I come to call him
Back again
I fancied that I heard them say
Dear lord thy will be done
For all the joy this child shall bring
The risk of grief we'll run
We'll shelter him with tenderness
We'll love him while we may
And for happiness we've known for
Every grateful stay
But should the angels call him
Much sooner than we've planned
We'll brave the bitter grief
That comes, and try to understand.

Shona, February 09-99

My angel

mummy misses you so much
I wish you were here
to look at your smiling face
and hug your fragile body
why did you have to leave
you were needed so much
it's not the same without you
and never will be
I hope my son you are happy
we try to be
when we're down
we just look at your pictures
and see a smile
not a frown

you will be forever in my heart
my little angel

Love Mum

FIRST YEARS MEMORIAL NOTICES

KEATE Dylan Trevor
27/9/96 - 27/2/98

To our little man,
we miss your smiles,
and your hugs and kisses.

A year has passed,
but seems like yesterday.
Keep smiling our angel,
because it's your eyes,
that light up our skies, at night.
Forever in our hearts.

Love Mum, Dad, and Your big brother Anaru.

KEATE Dylan Trevor

No more yesterdays
of holding you in my arms
No more last week
of taking you to the parks
No more last month
of watching as you laugh
A year has passed
A year filled with unbearable pain
and tears for those left behind.
Rest easy, little one.
Love you always.

Nana Chris, and aunties, Natasha and Lagi.
