Dylan was born on the 27th September 1996, at 4-20am, but joined our lives in July.
When I was having a scan, Steve asked if it was a boy or girl, before anyone could answer Dylan flashed at everyone in the room.
That was Dylan's first magical moment, ensuring everyone that he was on his way.
The next was when he was born, when all the other babies in the hospital were asleep,
all you could hear was Dylan snoring.
At home he progressed really well, being a typical nosey little boy and holding his head up at just 2 weeks old.
Then came the smiles that lightened up the room.
With everyone arguing over what color eyes he was going to have, Dylan decided to stick with Mum and go for brown.
At 4 months he took off ripping around the floor on all fours, most of the time going faster than most of us could run, and there has been no holding him back since.
Dylan's 1st birthday rolled around, with about 400 balloons we were all a little red faced, until we found the modern miracle of the vacuum.
Dylan opened his first present, and kids from everywhere just mobbed him.
Most of my family came from Taranaki, and Steve's Grandmother came from Waipukerau. There would have been at least 60-80 people who turned out.
Then was our trip to Rotorua, where Dylan lived in the swimming pool.
Not satisfied with the bath on returning home, Dylan decided he needed to have a swim.......
In the toilet, after throwing a roll of paper
down the toilet, he climbed in and thought it was great fun.
So next best thing we took him out on Poppa's
boat.
With miles of water around him, he was very impressed, except for the fact it wasn't thermally heated.
I'm sure everyone has had some memorable moments
with Dylan, that will always be cherished.
